Lightning Computer Consultant Service

Kenneth (Ken) Harold Ladds

1938 - 2005

In 1967, after a brief career as an auto-marine mechanic, Ken embraced the new technology of computers with IBM. This became both his vocation and avocation for over 30 years. Ken saw the progression of computers from mainframe to the now widely used desktop personal computer (PC). Over time, even some of his friends learned to use a computer. When he chose to retire from IBM he started Lightning Computer Consultant Service (LCCS) to keep himself busy. He also started teaching night school classes and really had great pride in showing people that a computer was something that everyone could learn and enjoy.

LADDS, Ken (Kenneth Harold), 67 years of age, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside, in the early hours of December 8, 2005 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Ken is predeceased by his son Barry, mother Julliette, father Harold and sister Lauretta. Ken is survived by his wife Pat, daughter Sharlene (Victor) and son Brian (Jenny), and granddaughter Lynda. Ken was a devoted husband and father. The accomplishments of Brian and Sharlene were a source of life-long pride and joy. He also had a sense of great satisfaction with the accomplishments of his granddaughter Lynda.

The family gives special thanks to Queen's Park and Crossroads Hospice Societies, Dr. R. Yenson, Dr. J. McInnis and Dr. C. Coppin, Ken's palliative care team of Port Moody, as well as the many other physicians and health care professionals who provided assistance and support to Ken and his family during his illness. The family greatly appreciates the love and loyal support given by their many personal friends.
